Dear Friend(s),
As we start to tell you a little about ourselves and our decision to adopt we want to let you know that we support you. We can’t begin to understand what you are going through and we won’t pretend to. What we will do is show you love and consideration for your decisions. We wish the best for you and your child and hope that we can help you both.
I guess we will begin by telling you a little bit about ourselves. I am Cory and Brittney is my beautiful wife. We have been married for six years and it has been wonderful. We have two children, Chloe Ann and Izabelle Ivy. Chloe is five and Izabelle is three. We love our children dearly and we want them to know that Heavenly Father loves them too.
I would now like to tell you a little about Brittney. I don’t know what it was, but I knew there was something special about her when I first met her. I have since found out there was more than one thing that makes her special to me. She loves her children so much. From cleaning up after a sick baby to helping Chloe write her name she has shown more patience than I will probably ever have. She also takes care of her biggest kid, which would be me. There have not been many times when I have asked her to bring me lunch that she wasn’t willing to make me a sandwich and load up the kids to bring me lunch. Family is always first and she helps me to remember that. Not only does she take care of us but she brings the spirit into our home. She has made our house a home. She loves to sing and play with the kids. We have recently taken a large interest in our yard and trying to make a garden grow. She has been very helpful there, especially since the summers are so busy for me. Brittney is a full time mother. She is not employed. I have to be careful and not say that she doesn’t work because she works very hard. I love my wife and I know that she would do anything for any one. I will let her tell you a little about me now.
It is now my turn to tell you a little bit about Cory. When we first met, it was love at first sight for me. I loved the way that he laughed, looked, and just carried his self as a person. I knew right away that he would be a great husband, and mostly a wonderful father. He has revealed since then that he is a lot more than I could have ever asked for. He is such a wonderful dad. The girls run to the door whenever it opens, in hopes that it will be him coming home from work. They are very disappointed when it is somebody else. When it is him, they have to be the first ones to welcome him home and give him a great big hug. They love their dad very much he does so much for them. Whether it be just sitting on dad’s lap, or wrestling on the ground with them. I have to mention how hard of a worker he is. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone in my entire life work harder than Cory does. He is always willing to stay late to help someone out, or go to their house to help them fix something. So many people have told me how much he really does for them, and how they sometimes just go to visit him at work, because he is such a great man. Cory has taught me so much about the gospel. I wish that I had even a quarter of his knowledge. He brings such a great spirit, and testimony into our home. He has always been there to lift me up when I am having a rough day with whatever it may be. I am very lucky to have him as my husband.
To end we just want to let you know what has led us to adoption. We have such strong feelings about this the past year. We have talked about it off and on. We want to be able to help someone that needs help. We live in a place that allows us to keep our children away from a lot of the worldly influences. The LDS Church is very strong in our area. We are a little different from most adoptive parents. We are able to have our own children. At this time in our lives we feel that adoption is our path. We know what it takes to care for a child. We can provide them with all there material needs but more importantly we can provide them with our love and the knowledge of the plan of salvation. We look forward to talking with you, writing letters and seeing pictures and hopefully meeting you!
With Respect
